Little about AL BASSATINE
Albassatine is home to approximately 2,500 people, mainly from five families: Ghosn, Rafeh, Abdelsalam, Merhi, and Al Alia. Together, these families formed the social, cultural, and historical foundation of the village, passing traditions, values, and stories from one generation to the next.
The village is surrounded by important neighboring towns and areas, including Aramoun, Kabrchmoun, Ain Ksour, Ainab, and the greater Beirut area. This location allowed Basateen to remain closely connected to nearby municipalities while preserving its rural character and strong sense of community.
Albassatine is also known for its natural water spring (Ain), which has long provided fresh water for the local population and was a vital resource in daily village life. The village includes a Mazar, a place of spiritual and cultural significance, as well as old traditional houses that preserve the memory and lifestyle of past generations. In addition, Basateen has a semi-Olympic football field, which serves as a gathering place for youth, sports, and community events.
